Android on N900, is now a reality!

While not the device, I found great work of this team, which has succeeded in porting complete Android on the Nokia N900.
It 'still slow, also due to the fact that the entire system is SD, but with some tuning is likely to arrive at a speed and usability more than satisfactory.

The background: I set juicedefender to connect to data / wifi for 5min every 30 min, only if traffic exceeded 5Kb/15sec and wifi / data always available only on screen.
Well, it works! But with Power Tutor, an app that monitors for a period of time programmed the power used by the connectivity and apps running, I noticed that in the end the wifi idle, ie when not transmitting data, is almost nil. While data exchange is around 300mW but for a short period, probably aggregates required in order not to make one thousand spread over time.
For comparison, the 3G (HSDPA) consumes something like twice when exchanging data and applications are all fragmented and are spread over a long time. That said it is good to set juicedefender ONLY for the data network, not wifi.
After these changes made juicedefender, the wifi is always active, but push notifications of Gmail (the app) did not arrive although the wifi active.
Then google a bit I saw the problem, or the Gmail app cache is cleared.
To do this you must go to Settings, Applications, ALL APP, go to Gmail, and deleted the cache, more power interruption. Then reopen Mail and see, if luck is with you, that will leave push notifications.
PS Eye that some task manager kill the processes that serve to push services and do not get notifications.

Yes, after 2 ½ years of "adventures" with my trusty E90, it is time of his retirement ... and what better than a nice Desire? I tried a friend's and it is spectacular, a touch of good management, responsive ... my E90 with Symbian is wiped out completely
